A Lucky Penny {Nantucket Pet Photography}

Yes, she is a lucky girl. Penny is a Shetland Sheepdog and is one and a half years old. She “owns” one of our island’s wonderful, dedicated teachers.
Penny was pretty camera shy but we managed to grab some good ones of her with the famous diversion known as chicken liver biscotti.

Rosie simply makes me smile.
I miss my Charlotte girl so much and Rosie in many ways reminded me of her. Sweet old girl with eyes that love unconditionally. Nantucket old girls really enjoy the salty air, swims in cool water and the extra special lobster and scallops. I wanted to share some more images of her from that lovely afternoon. Check out her curly, fuzzy sweet head. Her coat is fabulous; wonderful mix of strawberry blonde curls and elder greyness.

Little brothers are very important members of the family.
Peety, the Border Collie, is no exception.
We gave a lot of attention to his sister, Rosie, at our photo shoot a few weeks ago. She is very deserving given that she will soon turn 15.
It would stand to reason that one of the factors in Rosie’s beautiful longevity is in fact, her little brother. He is a Border through and through. As you can see in these images, all attention was on the ball at all times. He also spent most of our session either dropping the ball at our feet or herding Rosie and their Dad at the perimeter of the yard.
Peety is very respectful it seems of his place in the family. He is top herder but lets Rosie be the true grand dame.
I am also especially fond of Peety given that he is in a funny way related…his brother/littermate, Glen, is my wonderful friend, Duncan’s, dog.
What a sweet time that afternoon …..Peety chasing the tennis ball, and I trying to catch him before he was on the move again .

Holidays, 2010 {Nantucket Photography}

The signs of another summer passing are too evident. Nights are dark much earlier and even the light is changing a bit. I cannot say that I am sad about summer’s departure; my favorite season, Autumn, is upon us soon.
I have started making plans for Holiday cards and special projects. Many clients have requested cards and I am more than happy to oblige.
Paper, fonts, photos, details…it is all good. Here is an example of one of our cards this year. More to come.

Best Friends {Nantucket pet photography}

I’m still giddy. I got to play and snuggle with an elder golden and her border collie brother yesterday.
Rosie is going on 15 and is simply fabulous. She is such a beautiful golden with the sweetest teddy bear eyes. Her brother, Peety, is seven years young and is a very handsome border collie.
I had to sneak peek our session today since I simply cannot stop looking at their images.
Anyone who knows me is very aware of my crazy addiction.
I am addicted to dogs. Really addicted to golden retrievers. Over the moon in love with elder goldens. Would have 10 of them if I could.
Am very hopeful that Rosie’s Dad

won’t mind at all when he finds me on his lawn with his dogs on occasion.
I should start adding these type of clauses into the photography agreement.

Alex and her adorable husband, Kurt, were married this past January on the beautiful island of Anguilla.

She elected to have some Nantucket images created after the wedding as a testament to the island that she has called home.

So with the assistance of the wonderful Christie Lefebvre of Sconset Flair Studio creating hair and makeup fabulousness,

we set out to create a bit of glamour for our bride right in her own back yard.

What an amazing experience for our “crew”. No dog treats necessary. “What, where did the lipstick go?”

Alex, you are a stunning bride, woman and friend. Congratulations.

Laughter, sweetness, warm sunshine, awesome red sneakers. Really, what could be better?

This brother and sister could make you weep and laugh in the same minute. They are so funny and so bonded and so thoroughly respectful and adoring of each other.

We had a wonderful evening at Lily Pond playing shut the box and running after each other.

If only all evenings could be as pretty as this one we had…and as full of laughter.

Whew. Time for lunch.

This lunch break is courtesy of Moors End Farm here on Nantucket.

I have to admit, I touched these strawberries prior to purchasing them this morning. They are so magnificent, I thought for a brief second they may have been fake.

No way are these beauties fake. I almost (ALMOST) didn’t eat them, they are so beautiful.

I have been really neglectful of this blog recently and my only excuse is this….I am busy. Sorry. Hideous excuse really, but true.

Busy with all that is summer and busy with beautiful children and their pets. Love it.

So stay tuned. It is a working lunch today so that I can get caught up and show some real goodness.

If anyone is looking for yummy strawberries, head to Moors End, not to my house.
